UNIVERSITY SPACES
Food and drink are not permitted in any University rooms, if your group does want to have food and / or drink at your activity then you will need to hold it either in the SU building, or in an external venue (you might want to have a look at the How Do I Book A Room In The SU Or Elsewhere On Campus? article for more information on booking rooms too). The University are quite strict on this and if groups are found to have food and drink in their spaces then you can be banned from being able to book rooms in their buildings for up to 2 years (a couple of our groups have been banned in the past so please make sure not to have food and drink if using their spaces).
DUNELM HOUSE SPACES
Groups are allowed to have food and drink in the SU building as long as you follow the below:

If your group is planning on having the SU provide alcohol at your event in our building, then please get in touch with us so in advance of arranging your room booking so that we can let you know if we can support your event and the fees involved.
- Rooms should be well ventilated before leaving and all rubbish removed from inside the room and disposed of in bins outside of the room, especially where hot foods are consumed.
- Offenders of the rules above will have their room booking privileges suspended and face possible charges for cleaning costs.
If your group is having food at your event then there are some extra steps that you will need to take around food hygiene and food safety so please also take a look at our What Are The Requirements For Events Including Food? article too.
If you are planning on having alcohol at your event too, then please take a look at our What Are The Requirements For Events With Alcohol? article.
