An Academic Appeal is the process under which you can appeal against an academic decision made by the University in relation to your studies.
An appeal investigation will look at your case to determine if the decision that you are appealing was reached:
- In accordance with correct University procedures; and
- In the light of relevant information.
You can submit an Academic Appeal to formally request that a result is re-examined for one of three reasons below:
- There is evidence that procedures were not applied correctly, or marks were calculated incorrectly.
- There were extenuating circumstances which the original decision makers were not aware of, or that you could not disclose at that time to them.
- That the original decision was not reasonable in the given circumstances.
