Once your appeal has been considered, and if the Head of your Faculty has concluded that your appeal is allowed, then the possible outcomes that you will receive are:
- The result in question is sent back to the board of examiners to be re-examined
- A concession is granted which will impact how the result is taken into account
- Your Faculty may pass the case up to the Senate Academic Appeals Committee for examination
- No grounds for appeal are found and the appeal is dismissed. In this case, you may wish to progress to the Senate Academic Appeals Committee
Submitting an appeal doesn’t necessarily mean that the original decision that you are appealing will be changed. Marks are usually only amended if there has been an error in recording or processing them.
