Transactions do not appear immediately on your statement like a traditional bank account. This is because there are various payment deadlines for some of the providers we use as well as a number of background processes to complete to move money to/from the respective group pots. It can actually take up to a few weeks for some transactions to appear on your society statement.
For example:
Any money from membership fees / event tickets etc purchased through the SU website is sent to our finance team from the website provider twice a month. The finance team then transfer the money into each groups account and it then takes a further few days for your statement to refresh.Your exec does have access to your group page on the website though so you can track how many event tickets have been sold / memberships purchased to estimate how much money will come into your account (minus VAT if applicable).
In the above example, you may be concerned if you need to use some of this money you are expecting to come in to make a payment for something you need before the statement updates so it looks like you do not have enough funds. Do not fear if you are using SU approved providers, such as the SU website or Native, our event ticketing partner, the SU can see your sales and projected income! Therefore, we can see what payments you are due to receive and take this into account.
If you are expecting something that should have been on your statement over one month ago, then you can get in touch with us to check the status of the payment.
