STUDENT GROUP AGREEMENT
The Student Group Agreement is a document which outlines the expectations and procedures of all student groups, as well as those of the SU itself, especially about the relationship between both parties. The Student Group Agreement cannot be edited or amended, and all groups must accept its terms to be ratified.
CONSTITUTION
The Student Group Constitution is a governing document for the exec of a specific student group and its activities, with parts that are set by the exec members setting up the group (e.g. the group’s aims, exec roles and their definitions, minimum memberships etc.) The constitution outlines how the group will operate and is able to be amended in places, when democratically decided. The constitution has areas which differ from group to group and so you need to ensure that you have the most recent copy of your group’s specific constitution available for whenever you may need to refer to it. If you do not have a copy of your group’s constitution, you can request one from the SU.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The Durham SU Code of Conduct is a document which governs the minimum standards of behaviour individuals; we want every person to feel welcome and respected in every space or activity associated with our Students’ Union. We have a Code of Conduct so that we’re clear about the standards of behaviour we’ve decided we want to encourage and support to be a welcoming, respectful organisation. We expect our people and our organisation to behave in a way that we’re all proud of, consistent with the Code of Conduct. We’ll help people meet our expectations but, if there’s a failure to meet the standards of behaviour that we all expect, then the Code of Conduct may inform disciplinary action.
